Alside designed ASCEND with a flat face, defined butt edge, and realistic woodgrain texture. It is available as a 7-inch horizontal plank and a 12-inch board-and-batten profile, allowing it to be used across a whole home or as a contrasting architectural accent.
ASCEND uses Alside’s glass-reinforced polymer and graphite-infused polystyrene technology. According to the manufacturer, the system is designed for structural stability, moisture and impact resistance, thermal performance, and strong wind-load performance. Its integral color and low-gloss finish eliminate the need for field painting.
ASCEND is cladding, not a substitute for the water-resistive barrier behind it. Alside’s installation guidance calls for a smooth, level substrate, a code-compliant water-resistive barrier, and properly flashed openings and penetrations. On remodeling projects, rigid foam or another approved sheathing layer may be used to create a suitable surface when existing conditions allow.
Alside currently offers 21 colors across the ASCEND line. Screen colors can vary, so final selections should be made from actual product samples after confirming local availability, profile, trim compatibility, and project-specific lead times.
