CertainTeed Landmark is a dual-layer fiberglass asphalt shingle designed to provide the dimensional appearance of wood shake roofing. The line offers a broad selection of colors along with manufacturer technologies intended to support accurate installation, resist wind uplift, and reduce algae staining.
Shingles are only the outermost part of the assembly. Roof-deck condition, underlayment, drip edge, valleys, penetrations, flashing, ventilation, starter shingles, and ridge caps all affect how the finished roof performs. Fuse reviews and coordinates those details as one system.
Ice dams can force water beneath shingles near the lower edge of a roof. Our standard is to install two full courses of self-adhering ice-and-water membrane at all eaves. This typically carries protection farther upslope than the minimum area required by building code and gives this vulnerable part of the roof an additional margin of protection.
Roof geometry, pitch, overhang depth, valleys, low-slope transitions, ventilation, and existing conditions vary from home to home. We confirm the project-specific assembly and follow applicable code and manufacturer installation requirements rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all detail.
